I Married for Money… But Fell in Love With His Driver

I didn’t marry him for love.
Let’s not pretend.
Chief Ade was rich, powerful, and old enough to be my father. When he asked for my hand in marriage, my family didn’t hesitate.
“Do you want to suffer?” my mother asked me.
So I said yes.
The house was massive. The cars? Too many to count. But the man I married barely spoke to me unless it was necessary.
I was lonely.
That’s when I noticed him.
Kunle—the driver.
Quiet. Respectful. Always opening doors, always saying “Madam” with a soft smile.
At first, it was nothing.
Just glances.
Then conversations.
Then laughter.
And before I knew it… feelings.
One evening, rain poured heavily, and Chief wasn’t home. Kunle and I were stuck in the car outside the gate.
“I shouldn’t feel this way,” I whispered.
He didn’t respond.
But his silence said everything.
That night changed everything.
Weeks later, Chief called me into his office.
“I know,” he said calmly.
My heart dropped.
“Pack your things and leave.”
No anger. No shouting.
Just dismissal.
As I walked out with nothing but a suitcase, Kunle stood outside.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
But for the first time in my life…
I wasn’t.
